Hanasaari has long traditions in organising conferences in the fields of science and higher education. These sectors entail numerous topics that are suitable for the Swedish-Finnish or Scandinavian perspective. Such comparisons between our countries are easily overshadowed in national policy-making, also in the fields of science and culture.

Languages and history have been recurrent themes in Hanasaari’s event activities since the beginning, and we often partner with scientific associations and societies. Our aim is to intensify the question setting for topics under discussion and to attain results that can be applied in both countries.

In its activities, Hanasaari is especially focusing on fostering co-operation within the fields of higher education and research to support the active development work in universities and higher education that is on-going in both countries.
