Language and culture courses have been a natural part of Hanasaari’s activities from the very beginning. Swedish teachers in Finland and Swedish-speaking Finnish teachers have held their annual further education days in co-operation with Hanasaari for decades. Hanasaari’s event and activity offering also includes an intensive course on the Finnish language and culture in the summer. The course is open to everyone.
Course activities for other target groups are also constantly evolving. Over the past years we have organised tailored courses for Swedish journalism and pedagogy students who are second and third generation Finnish immigrants in Sweden. We even organise courses on the Finnish language, culture and social studies for other groups of Nordic students as part of the Nordplus language programme and a member of the “Nordiska pärlor” (Nordic pearls) network. Nordplus is organised by the Nordic Council of Ministers. The courses are designed and implemented in co-operation with Scandinavian universities.
Read more about the Nordplus language program at nordplusonline.org and about the Nordic Pearls Network at Voksenåsen, Schaeffergaarden, Lysebu and Biskops-Arnö.
Further education for history teachers within the framework of the Landmark Year 1809 project is another example of our activities. Training was organised throughout Finland in co-operation with the State Provincial Offices of Finland. Hanasaari aims at developing training exchange activities for teachers in Finland and Sweden in co-operation with key operators in both countries. ?linkki School projects.
