Connections between Sweden and Finland PDF Print E-mail

What is Hanasaari’s mission?

The Hanasaari Swedish-Finnish Cultural Centre is a non-profit organisation with a bilateral governmental purpose. The Centre has worked to promote co-operation, contacts and the exchange of experiences between Finland and Sweden since 1975.

Together with other players, Hanasaari organises events, courses, seminars and projects that are related to current issues and phenomena in all sectors of society.

The aim of Hanasaari’s events and activities is not to seek financial profit but to work for the good of the participants, co-operation partners and our societies. To this end, Hanasaari’s facilities include a conference centre that is located in a maritime setting, only a few minutes’ drive from Helsinki city centre.

Hanasaari implements its mission by:

  • Bringing together organisations, institutions and people to increase and foster co-operation between Finland and Sweden and to enhance the positive impacts of such co-operation.

  • Organising seminars, dialogues, courses, and workshops and study days in collaboration with relevant players.

  • Generating and implementing co-operation projects with groups that share the same objectives.

  • Organising author meet and greets, movie nights, art exhibitions, concerts, and other events where Sweden and Finland meet.

You are welcome to participate in our events – or to submit a proposal concerning collaboration! Read more about co-operation with Hanasaari.
