Exhibition in Hanaholmen Art Park
Enjoy new Nordic photography outdoors at Hanaholmen!
For the third year in a row, Hanaholmen Art Park hosts Nordic Village, an exhibition highlighting new and groundbreaking photographers from Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Iceland. Nordic Village is part of the Helsinki Photo Festival, which annually pushes the boundaries for exploring photography and brings it to the city dwellers through exhibitions in the greater Helsinki area.
For the group exhibition Nordic Village, the artists get selected through a jury of photography professionals and curators responsible for the festival’s open call contest. The theme in 2023 is courage.
In 2023, Nordic Village features work of the artists Björn Nilsson (Sweden), Rolf-Göran Åström (Sweden), Sofi Lundin (Sweden, based in Uganda), Emmi Roosling (Sweden), Maija Bondar (Finland), Mikkel Hørlyck (Denmark), Maja Nydal Eriksen (Denmark), Haakon Sand (Norway), Aija Svensson (Finland) and Darina Rodionova (Finland).
The highlight of the Nordic Village exhibition is a Nordic seminar with established speakers in the field of visual art that will be organized on September 29, 2023. Follow the Helsinki Photo Festival website for updates regarding the event.
Nordic Village is a talent platform fostered by Helsinki Photo Festival to support emerging and groundbreaking Nordic photographers in Finland and internationally. The sixth edition of Helsinki Photo Festival will take place August 4th-October 2nd, 2023.
